Facilitation Committee (FAL)

The Facilitation Committee (FAL) works to remove unnecessary formalities and “red tape” in international shipping.

The Committee ensures that the right balance is struck between maritime security and the facilitation of international maritime trade.

This committee also implements all aspects of the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic 1965.

The next Session is the: 41st Session of the Facilitation Committee (FAL 41).

Previous session

At the end of each Facilitation Committee (FAL) meeting, a final report is prepared for submission to the IMO Council.

The final report provides a record of the issues discussed and actions taken by the Committee.
