Navigation, Communications and Search & Rescue Sub-Committee (NCSR)

The NCSR sub-committee brought together two previous IMO sub-committees – Radio-communications and Search and Rescue (COMSAR) and Safety of Navigation (NAV).

The Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR) Sub-Committee was formed in 2014.

It was established to consider technical and operational matters related to the obligations of Governments, such as for the safety of navigation – including hydrographical and meteorological services, ships’ routeing, ship reporting systems, aids to navigation, radio-navigation systems, vessel traffic services, and pilotage.
