How to pay your fees

Find out what options are available for paying fees, levies or any other services charged by Maritime New Zealand.

1. Credit card or debit card

You can pay invoices or pay for services charged by Maritime New Zealand using your credit card or debit card (see cards below).

Card security

Maritime New Zealand takes card security seriously. We use a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard compliant hosted payment service, paymentexpress.com, to process the credit card transaction.

Our policy is to not collect or store your card details. Your credit card payment details will only be collected and held securely by paymentexpress.com.

Your card details are encrypted on the paymentexpress.com website using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) based security. See the paymentexpress.com website for more details.

Please do not email your card details to us.

2. Internet banking or bank deposit

If you are in New Zealand, you can use internet banking or pay by bank deposit.

Please use the following information when making the payment:

  • for vessel applications, the vessel name and/or MNZ number
  • for seafarer applications, your name and the letters ‘SeaCert’ or your candidate ID, if known
  • for MTOC applications, your name and the letters ‘MTOC
  • for invoices, the invoice number and your customer number
  • for other applications, your name and the application type.

3. Cheque

If paying by cheque, please make it payable to Maritime New Zealand.

4. Overseas payments

Overseas payments can be made byan international bank transfer.

Please use the following information when making the payment:

Please make sure that any bank charges, including those of the receiving bank in New Zealand, are paid when making an international bank transfer.
