Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) has joined representatives of national boating authorities from Australia, Canada, France, and the United Kingdom as signatory to the International Lifejacket Wear Principles.

Pelco fined under HSE Act
Fish processing company Pelco was yesterday fined $16,000 in the Tauranga District Court after two of its employees suffered frostbite while unloading fish from a vessel in July 2012.

One dead after fishing vessel rolls
A person has drowned after a 15-metre fishing vessel rolled over at the Greymouth bar shortly before 8am today.

Stranded Tongan fishermen rescued
Seven fishermen were rescued late Saturday night from Kau Island in Tonga by a local vessel, in a mission coordinated by Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand (RCCNZ).

Beacon proves its worth twice-over for hunters
