How do I satisfy currency requirements?

Holders of ring-fenced NZOM, NZOW or NZCM certificates are required to satisfy currency requirements every five years if they want to continue to exercise the privileges of their certificate.

You must have a current medical and meet one of the following requirements:

12 months of relevant sea service within 5 years before you apply or
3 months of relevant sea service within 6 months before you apply or
30 months in a relevant shore based role within 5 years before you apply or
pass a relevant examination.

6 months of relevant sea service within 5 years before you apply or
45 days of relevant sea service within 3 months before you apply or
