¹These training providers are approved by the Director to issue ancillary certificates of proficiency.

²Seafarers attending ancillary refresher courses must provide the training provider with a company letter(s):

they have actively participated in the mandatory abandon ship and fire drills (and fast rescue boat drills, if applicable) while completing
approved seagoing service performing functions appropriate to the certificate they hold, for a period of at least:
- 12 months in total during the preceding 5 years or
- 3 months in total during the preceding 6 months
