How to change a ship’s name - ships registered in Part B
See the process for changing a ship’s name under Part B.
To change the name of your ship, you need to do these things:
- Complete the Application for Change of Name (form SR6)
- Send your completed application form to Maritime New Zealand by email, courier or post.
When we receive the application, we will send you an invoice with a reference number and instructions explaining how to pay. Once payment is received we will register the change of ship's name and send you a new certificate of registration by courier.
