How to close a Part B registration

A Part B registration terminates if one of the following occurs:

• the ship is sold
• the ownership changes other than by way of a sale
• any of the descriptive particulars of the ship change.

If one of these events occurs, or you do not want to keep the ship registered, email Maritime New Zealand at ship.registration@maritimenz.govt.nz.

Tell us what has occurred and we will record in the Register of Ships that the registration has terminated.
