How to change a ship’s name registered in Part B

See the process for changing a ship’s name registered under Part B of the New Zealand Register of Ship

What you need to do

To change the name of your Part B‑registered ship, you must:

complete the Application for change of name or port of registry of registered ship (form SR06)
send your completed application form to Maritime NZ by email, courier, or post.

When we receive your application, we will:

send you an invoice with a reference number and instructions explaining how to pay
register the change of ship’s name once we receive your payment
send you a new certificate of registration by courier.
