Annual Report
The Annual Report explains how Maritime NZ has performed over the year, how we are tracking against our strategy and plans and what outcomes we have achieved. It also reports on the financial and non-financial results set out in the Statement of Performance Expectations and Statement of Intent.
Statement of Performance Expectations
The Statement of Performance Expectations is a key accountability document we produce annually. It sets the framework for how we monitor and report on progress against our non-financial (operational) and financial performance. It includes prospective budgets for Maritime NZ and the Oil Pollution Fund.
The Statement of Performance Expectations outlines our work programme priorities for the upcoming year. It describes our outputs that reflect our core regulatory and response roles, and how we monitor performance against these outputs.
The Statement of Performance Expectations should be read alongside our Statement of Intent.
Statement of Intent
Our Statement of Intent has a longer-term focus than the Statement of Performance Expectations. It is a key accountability document outlining our strategic direction and what our work programmes intend to deliver over the next few years, as well as the outcomes we are working towards.
Within our Statement of Intent, we describe each part of Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga, our organisational strategy:
- our direction (our vision and outcomes, and who we are)
- our regulatory approach (how we carry out our role)
- our external focus areas i.e. harm prevention programmes (how we target our effort)
- our organisational foundations and enablers (the culture and capabilities that support us to achieve as an organisation).
