Amendment
This Part was amended by Marine Protection Rules Amendments 2025. These amendments come into force on 1 December 2025.
Part 123B sets requirements for standardised recording of shipboard operations involving oil or oily mixtures and their discharge and escape. It also includes the provision of shipboard manuals to guide crew performing such operations.
The form of record book for oil tankers and for other ships of 400 tonnes gross tonnage or more, are prescribed.
Part 123B gives effect to standards found in Regulations 17, 31.4, 35 and 36 of Annex I of MARPOL 73/78.
The Minister of Transport signed this rule on 20 May 1998, coming into effect on 20 August 1998.
