This Part was amended by Marine Protection Rules Various Amendments on 13 December 2019.
Part 142A sets out requirements for the standardised certification of ships carrying noxious liquid substances in bulk in accordance with Regulation 9 and 10of Annex II of MARPOL 73/78. That certification, in the form of an International Pollution Prevention Certificate for the Carriage of Noxious Liquid Substance in Bulk, evidences compliance with the pollution prevention equipment and survey requirements of that Annex. When a foreign ship from a State that is not a party to Annex II visits, the ship's crew must provide documentation showing that it complies with the provisions of Annex II.
This rule was signed by the Minister of Transport on 20 May 1998 and came into force on 20 August 1998.
