This Part was amended by Marine Protection Rules Various Amendments (Changes Related to Conventions) 2017, in February 2018.
Part 141 incorporates the construction, equipment and operational standards for ships certified to carry noxious liquid substances in bulk found in the International Maritime Organisation’s International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Dangerous Chemicals in Bulk.
Part 141 gives effect to Regulations 11 and 12 of Annex II of MARPOL 73/78.
The Minister of Transport signed this rule on 20 May 1998, coming into effect on 20 August 1998.
